Real estate veteran Alan 'Butch' Strawderman, a lifelong resident of Rockingham County, graduated from Broadway High School, attended Massanutten Military Academy Prep School, and attended East Carolina University for four years. While at ECU, Butch lettered for three years in football and was named All-Southern Conference for two years and 3rd Team Associated Press All- American. Butch had try-outs with the now-defunct World Football League and the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. Butch has been involved in the sale and marketing of vacation properties for over 24 years. He co-owned Chad Marketing with his brother for 16 years, until it was sold in 2003. Butch has two daughters, Alexa and Brianna. He attends Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene and enjoys many outdoor activities. He served on the local Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank in Harrisonburg for three years.
Butch attended Eastern Carolina University (ECU).
