Mike Martin, Commercial Realtor

As a lifelong resident of the Shenandoah Valley, I am excited to represent Cottonwood Commercial. I am looking forward to utilizing my extensive experience in small business development, communication, and organizational skills to help my clients.

I started Next Level Athletic Development, LLC out of my house in 2010. What started in my basement has turned into a 9,600 sq foot enterprise with two full time employees and the privilege of training multiple professional athletes over the lifespan of my business. Along with gaining significant knowledge of what it takes to start and run a business from the ground up, I also gained important hands on knowledge of commercial real estate. I learned valuable zoning rules and regulations, the zoning appeals process, property searches, lease negotiations, and the commercial lending process. Because I went through every aspect of that process myself, I acquired extensive insight into small business development and commercial property purchase and leasing.

Ten years of teaching and nine years of varsity soccer coaching experience have helped me develop strong leadership and communication skills. To encourage and assist high school student athletes reach their highest potential, I had to build strong relationships and trust with each family. As a result, I was voted Valley District Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by my coaching peers for two out of my three years as head coach at Spotswood High School.

Prior to starting my own business, I earned my Master of Science Degree from James Madison University.

I enjoy all things sports related and will never turn down a good book or interesting magazine. However, what I love most is spending time with my family.
